Our Work

The Maurice Akueme Foundation is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation based in the United Kingdom, Companies House No. 10999637 with registered office at 20-22 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU. Our main objective is to alleviate and palliate suffering/hardships being experienced by the less privileged in Africa. Mainly working in Nigeria & Uganda, the foundation supports orphanages and old people's homes. We have successfully set up food banks in rural communities and also visit the sick and elderly providing them with food and other essential commodities. The foundation also supports Internally Displaced People, we have been visiting the Abagena & Daudu IDP camps in Benue State, Nigeria to supply food items.

We have also recently set up a Tailoring Centre in Calabar, Cross River State. Nigeria were we provide free training in sewing, tailoring, fashion & design for the less privileged. The aim is for the youths to acquire the skills necessary for them to set up by themselves in the near future, currently there are 15 students enrolled and hope to graduate within 24 months.

The Foundation is solely funded by the founder - Maurice 'Emeka Akueme - a UK based accountant who believes that the secret to happiness is helping others especially the less privileged.
